Aircraft always spawns with 50% fuel

I noticed that if I touch anything on the World Map after setting the fuel/load, like clicking on the Flight Conditions, the Nav Log, or even just any element on the map, the fuel/load value goes back to default.

Ah, good to know. So, adjusting the fuel level should be the last step in the world map before clicking to ‘Fly’. Was also a bit annoying to me. But doing so sounds like a good workaround.
