I want to role play going and getting an aircraft and transporting it elsewhere.
Let’s say that an aircraft, say a small to medium sized WWII era aircraft were found somewhere. What size of aircraft would be required to transport the wreckage (assume whole wings, fuselage) etc, to another place in the world. I’m looking for any ideas of aircraft available in MSFS.
For example I assume the likes of an An 225 would do about anything. But what about smaller options?
Even if you don’t know for sure, what are your thoughts? I’m guessing the size would be the issue rather than weight as aircraft are very light.
Any sizeable aircraft being transported would most likely have the wings/ tail removed, for safer transport, and in order to fit in the transport aircraft.
Therefore, a 747 or A310 freighter for older bomber size aircraft would easily fit the bill.
A Spitfire sized fighter would fit in an A320 / 737 fuselage.
In the real world the issue would be the size of the fuselage side loading doors.

Ahh right, see, I didn’t even think of the doors! I suppose it would need to be a “real” cargo plane with really large doors.
Edit: I did assume it’d be in pieces of course. Food for thought though. Maybe I need to just research door sizes vs aircraft I want to “transport.”
