`Brief description of the issue: Several aircrafts e.g. Cessna 172 loses in flight connection with my controllers Pro Flight X-56 Rhino Stick and Throttle

Sounds like a USB issue. Here are two things you can try:

  1. Uncheck this checkbox for each USB hub in Deviced Manger:

  1. Buy a decent-quality powered USB hub and connect the controllers through that one.

I had a similar issue with my Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo devices, and solution 2 fixed it for me.

Connect H.O.T.A.S (throttle and stick) to USB 2.0
Also uncheck “allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”

Control panel > devices and printers.
Right-click > Pro Flight X56 Stick and select properties.
Click hardware tab > X56 H.O.T.A.S Stick (USB) > properties

Click power management tab
Uncheck > allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
image

Click OK > OK.

After that right-click on Pro Flight X56 Throttle and select properties.
Click hardware tab > X56 H.O.T.A.S Throttle (USB) > properties
image

Click power management tab
Uncheck > allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
Click OK > OK.

Restart PC.

HUB? - nah

Buy USB 2.0 slot cover 2x port and connect to motherboard USB 2.0 connector.

I don’tget it? The point was that it should be a powered hub.

I assume TenPatrol wanted to mentioned: if able then prevere the usage of the existing usb connectors ( on mainboard ) instead of use a hub…

But if you not own the cheapest usb-hub in the world , a usb-hub should works fine too and is often necessary ( not all mainboards have such a amount of usb connectors which are necessary ) .
Also, beside of that my mainboard offers more than enought usb port, I want to disable not used devices if I not need them and so I own a (active) usb-hub where I can switch all ports seperatly on/off and I have just all (game)devices ( and others ) connected to it with no issues. Additional benefit for me, I not need to crawl under the table
( but I allways have in mind that a usb-hub can made trouble )

EDIT: in discussion comes also another beneffit from an external active usb-hub on top. Such active hubs are able to offer more power for the connected devices. The most mainboards have in meanwhile often only one usb2 ‘chip’ and this is limited in how-much-power it can provide ( spec say 500mA) .
