Yesterday I set all failures to ON and ARMED. Range from 0 to 9990 minutes. I got RPM drop from 2500 to 2100 after two hours of cruise flight.
Today I armed all failures again, same settings. Range from 0 to 9990 minutes. I got engine failure in the very first minute of taxiing.
I find it weird. It shouldn’t happen that often.
Well, you did set a range from 0 to 9990 minutes right? 1 minute is within those range… So I’m not sure what the issue is in here.
I’m guessing the problem is with the probability of a failure. I haven’t played with them yet but I’m guessing each failure has a different probability of occuring.
You would need to check it on more than two flights to see if the probably is too high for an engine problem though.
The probability of failure during a flight is NOT dependent on when something occurred during the previous flight. A failure might happen after one minute during the next five flights. Your expectation should be that for EACH flight a failure might occur at ANY time within the specified range.
