Aircraft-specific control profiles

Moderators, you can close this wish as 2024 does have per-plane control profiles.

Thanks, i didn’t know that! Very good news indeed!

However, there is no file compatability between 2024 profiles and older 2020 profiles, which are a mess according to Asobo.

You can leave the other controllers plugged in. Unless you use them, or they develop “the jitters”, they have no impact.

Been meaning to track you down. Gave your program a 1 rating because ir corrupts profiles. And it has serious problems if you have more than 10 devices - things like webcams, headsets, printers, external drives, mice and keyboards.

And it’s SLOW. I have over 300 airplanes between the game and those purchased in the marketplace. Your program can’t handle it.

This overly complex option will only cater for around 5% of the user community.

They did this in DCS and after spending hours / days setting up for every aircraft, an update wiped them all.

DCS user community is falling because they make amazing aircraft that are very complex but need weeks of hard work to master them. They (and the scenarios) are now too complex for the average (majority) user.

I think that FS2020 and FS2024 (used it on the alpha weekend) are perfect for the majority of users. But you can make the experience as complicated as you wish, depending on the aircraft type and your control setup.

I am a pilot but I don’t always want to follow every step of planning, flying and debrief as they are very time consuming - sometimes it is nice to quickly fly over wonderful scenery in amazing weather conditions.

We are privileged and lucky to have these two sims available to us at reasonable prices - I have flown at least once a day since FS2020 was released, amazing value.

Yes per plane could be complex to setup.

But Asobo thought of that in 2024; you can set controls for a group of planes.

That could be 2 groups: small single engine and Boeing airliners - all using a yoke, and Airbus and military using a joystick.

You can choose your own granularity of control detail in 2024. I consider that a great improvement.

Where’s this ‘groups’ thing coming from? I haven’t seen anything along the lines of what you’re suggesting.

As far as I’m aware controls should be able to be assigned globally, per aircraft type (plane, helicopter etc.) or individually.

Hopefully the release will be much improved on what was in the alpha, because that wasn’t at all intuitive to use.
