Airlines at Realistic Airports

I installed the LiveriesMegaPack mod with hundreds of real world airline liveries. It works and looks great. Is there a way to only see airlines at airports where they would normally be seen? For instance, I don’t want to see South African airliners at small commuter airports in the U.S.

Short answer is no, not currently.

Past versions of FS only had this possible by customizing the airports themselves via a program called AFCAD which allowed users to set a parking parameter called a radius which the could be assigned to Ai traffic and specific terminals (and spots for things like military) as part of the config file.

Currently all default airports are locked so you can not do something like this.

First step it to get more Ai working (including models not currently in the game)as several groups here are working on.

Thanks! For now, I’ll just enjoy all the liveries and maybe play a game of how many different ones I can spot … until the issue gets solved someday.

Start following these folks…

This certainly will be a big improvement in terms of getting many of the right planes to the right airports (using pre-created traffic plans based upon the real world traffic using many different airplane types)!

I have been playing around with the available Ai assets for a while - and while not perfect (texture issues, especially at night), it certainly makes the world much more interesting and alive.

That looks fantastic!!! Can’t wait.

Kind of a workaround, but what I do is remove certain liveries from the community folder to only airlines that fly, or could fly in the region I am in. So for example, when I’m flying in the Southern US, I would have American Airlines, Alaska, United and Delta. Maybe I would throw in Spirit and Frontier as well.

East Coast I would leave in Delta, United and American, maybe remove Alaska and Frontier and add in JetBlue.

This is for sure a little tedious, but is about as realistic as you can get right now. The only thing I cannot understand is why the textures mirror themselves from a certain distance?
