Airport lights alway on?

I’m surprised this isn’t being touched on more often. Runway and taxiway lights always on nice and bright at all times. Thought it was a bug at first but seems like it’s on purpose? Super annoying

This discussion has been going on for quite a while. The issue is also on the Feedback Snapshot to be addressed (currently listed as “under investigation” and time is “TBD”.

Just as a daft thought maybe, but would a remote light facility from within the sim help here? The default might be “off” but an instruction sent for instance by radio could turn airfield lighting “on” Much the same as real life operations at many airfields Worldwide, but here, it might satisfy both camps.
