The sim loads normally, but after SU8 all my airports load very slow or just stop loading. I emptied my Community folder and now the airports load normally. What would be a likely culprit in the Community folder that would cause this slow loading of airports?
The more content in your community folder, the longer the load time. Only put in the addons you need for your current flight.
This just happened after SU8. I’ve never had this slow loading before.
I did a complete reinstall and I have nothing in my community folder, and the sim is stuck when I hit Fly.
That well may be, I’m not sure why the change now.
It could be that some of the addons have a conflict with the changes introduced in the update.
In that case, it would be trial and error to find out what addon(s) is(are) causing it.
Put them in a few at a time and try. If one group makes the sim slow loading, you have a good idea it is in that batch.
However, the info above will probably help if you just want to speed up the loading process
.
You should start your own thread, or post on to an existing one on the same subject.
This is known as hijacking a thread, and shouldn’t be done.
So far I’ve taken out all the addons I can see that would affect all airports. I’ll keep looking.
It doesn’t have to ba airports, it could be any addon
Do you have bijan trees? Disable all bijan items
I do have Bijan. No effect. I went thru my whole Community folder with no luck. So today it seems to be working OK. Could this have been a server issue, or doesn’t that come into play with this?
What aircraft were you trying to start with?
I was using the Just Flight Arrow but it was the same no matter what plane.
I am getting this as well. Doing a clean install moving everything to a new drive currently. REALLY hoping that fixes things.
Performance and stability took quite the nose dive SU8.
Still having the problem of the sim stopping loading after I choose a flight. The bar just stops about 1/2 way thru. Not all the time but enough to be annoying. Only way out is to close the program thru Task Manager, and then load again for another 7-8 minutes.
