Definitely… I was just looking for a challenge with R/W weather. Breaking out of overcast into blue skies and puffy clouds is pretty awesome too. MSFS is the first to really capture that particular feeling IMO. Some of my favorite R/W flights were instrument training w low overcast and tops at 3,000. Loved capturing the ILS and descending through a solid cloud layer, then popping out just above minimums with the runway right in front of you…
but, yes - Alaska is gorgeous in summer ![]()
I’d watched this last night and wanted to take a break from single digit frames at DD’s KEWR, so was playing around in this area ( which I’d never heard of before )
Looks night and day better in summer or with a WX preset.
