My Ovation, Piper and Waco all CTD on the load screen. I have deleted them in the content manager but now can’t install as well as they no longer have a version number. This occurs with or without an empty comm folder! FlightSimulator 2021-04-01 13-21-43-702|690x388 .
I’m reasonably sure it’s not the planes.
Have you changed anything else significant lately? Drivers, overclocking, etc?
Before you reinstall, make sure they are completely gone from the drive. So not only delete them in the content manager but exit MSFS and also delete the respective Carenado folders in the “Official” folder. If there are remnants left, reinstall sometimes doesn’t work.
Hi Archer,
No significant changes at all. It seemed to have started after the small update to the piper after the last sim update. I did remove the 3 carenado files from the official file and put them in another drive. I also removed the repaints I had in the comm file. I was able to reinstall the planes however, they still CTD on the load screen. FPS drops to 1 and the music stops then CTD. All other aircraft seem fine.
So to be clear: you moved the three Carenado folders from the “Official” folder to another drive and reinstalled the three planes via downloading them through the Content Manager and they still give you CTDs with an empty Community folder?
Sorry, have absolutely no idea. Never heard of such a thing.
The only thing you can try is deleting them again and reinstalling them one after the other and look if the problem persists with all Carenado planes or just one. If the problem started with an update to the Piper, you should install that one last
Yes, that is correct. I’m at a crossroad with no idea what to do. Its a waste of money if I cant use these planes.
I had the same challenge…turned off AI aircraft…fixed
All Carenado aircraft I have do this.
The fix is to load a default aircraft first to the airport and then go back and load the Carenado. Using this method I can also have AI at 100%
