All my FS2020 marketplace items now in 2024: quite a mess!

He’s talking so much sense in that video. If asobo could just listen to everything he says and start acting on it then we’d be in a better place.

Starting with fixing the game so that people can actually load it, 1 week in and too many are stuck unable to use it at all, and many of us that are now able to use it can only do so because smart users have figured out workarounds to the software fails, with no assistance from MS.

Regarding the career, I would love to try the new mission activities but the checkrides are a joke and I have no intention of spending hours doing what the game wants me to just to increase a fake dollars number so I can do the activity I wanted in the first place. The game is there for fun, no other purpose.

Different strokes. I love the missions. Having an arbitrary goal of increasing an imaginary number (this is the purpose of most video games), expanding my fleet, expanding my territory, is a lot of fun. Did in FSEconomy for ages, The Skypark, NeoFly, OnAir, A Pilot’s Life, and others. The best part is though that if you don’t want to do Career, you don’t have to click the button. You still have the same free flight option as before. Free flight is there for fun, Career is there for fun, up to your preference.

Yes for sure, if you want to do the career then that’s great. But locking the new activities behind the career means others who don’t want to do the career are excluded from using them, and that’s bad.

Why should we be excluded from crop spraying and firefighting activities just because we want to do them independently and not as part of a career?

The solution is simple, make these activities available outside of career, either in free flight or separately, then users can play the game however they enjoy it. This was one of the points that Mover made in his video and I 100% agree with it.

Oh okay yeah, I don’t disagree with that at all!

Agreed, 100%.

But this is pretty far afield from the topic of this thread.

100% agreed as well. A large user base is excluded. Career mode would be better if not penalized so heavily. Casual simmers will definitely crash, like me. I don’t want to be indefinitely push off being able to do missions. It’s infuriating that we paid so much for the game and in the two years of marketing hype showing off missions, saying “you can do missions of xyz type” there was never a notation of *If/Only career mode. So no they didn’t technically lie as you can do missions but it was a big omission leading us to believe you can just load a firefighting or cargo activity.

It needs to be separated somehow

And yes true. Off topic but why not add a voice to it. Maybe a moderator can move our posts to a new place

Agreed. Career mode is too complex and time consuming to get to the fun part. Aside from a small niche of hard core realism folks, most just want to play it after a long day of real life.

And as far as smart users and work around, that only applies to PC. Xbox users don’t make use of it. So again opens a reality chasm of two different user experiences. Not great for marketing imo. Hey we made a cool game but this line can do X and enjoy but the other line of folks, second class. Missed deadlines of added ram and more.

Why trying to delete the 2020 addons within 2020 and see if they also disappear in 2024. On Xbox you can remove troublesome addons completely. But they stay within your profile in marketplace in case you want to reinstall later

for the career mode discussion go in this topic here Career Mode Sandbox Option - #74 by Spac3Rat

Still no news on the Marketplace and junk add-ons we can’t delete just ridiculous

Do others see this too? … today all my FS2020 items suddenly have been moved to the “Not Installed” category. Hmm.

But now there is no button to activate them again.

I guess we need to wait for some sim hotfix update.

The banner at the top of the forum explains this.

They have disabled non-aircraft 2020 content to arrest ongoing issues with the content present.

They will be enabling the functionality for disabling/enabling this content with a patch coming the week of Dec 9.
