Up until today things went along reasonably well. Graphics were smooth and while I never checked my frame rates they felt fine.
Today, all is well until I go to fly after planning a flight. At that point the sim slows down so badly that I can’t even move the view around the cockpit well enough to start the plane. If I esc back to the options screen, those are almost unworkable. There is a multiple second delay between a mouse click and a response.
If, rather than planning a flight I go into one of the preprogrammed scenerios all works well.
Does anyone have any idea what might have happened and how I can get back to flying again?
Possible u are starting to recache/load online photogrammetry and its trying to load it tanking ur system. If you can stay in the area for a while (maybe pause) and wait if its related it should catch up and fps recover
I’m fairly confident that it’s not my internet. No issues with any other programs, speed test is normal, and these are the same flights I’ve flown before without issue. Looking at system resources, I don’t seem to have any issue with CPU, Memory, Graphics, etc. Cut my graphics way back just in case but no change.
This happened to me while changing graphic settings during a flight. I quit that flight, and in the main menu changed the settings back (that was a really, really slow process lol). I think it was the fps setting that did that coz it did it twice.
After rebooting the game with the settings reset, fps to 60 esp, everything went back to normal.
when that happens, are you getting 10/11 FPSs? if yes, then it is a well-known bug. coherentGTdraw or something like that. you can check with the dev mode, turn on FPSs and check what coherentGTdraw says when that happens
Had that as well for a few days after the patch. Couldn’t figure out what was causing it. I was low on SSD space, so I made more space and it was not it. I cleaned cash and it did not work. I tried everything. Lowered graphics, tuned off multiplayer, nothing. My suspicion is that it was something caused by the MS server.
Today I started MSFS and wooow. All nice and smooth. Better than before the patch. Now i can play on mostly high, before I was mostly on medium. Strange.
I’m not sure what cockpit shadows are but I don’t have any shadows set anywhere near 8190. My FPS is right around 50 until I move my cockpit view. Then it bottoms out at 10 only because it doesn’t show anything lower than that. Everything is in the green or yellow at that point including coherentGTdraw. That keeps moving around but it never hits the read. My FPS says limited by GPU but I’ve never had the issue prior to a couple of days ago and nothing has changed.
Hover up at the top so all of the pop up window icons appear. The last one on the right is the gear icon. Just make sure they are all checked to reset.
Suggest that you submit a ticket to zendesk and/or post in the bugs and issues forum (or just move this post there). Many of us have experienced the exact same problem that you’re describing. And although there are workarounds, it needs to be fixed by the developer ASAP.
