during the recent start of MSFS, I was asked how to configure MSFS and consequently, all my previous settings were lost (graphics, camera, hardware etc etc). Already tried to restart the PC a couple of times, logged out + in from the Microsoft account, but nothing solved the issue. Any idea how to get my original settings back? I’m using the Store Edition of MSFS. I did not participate in any SU Beta, I’m just a normal user
It is possible that this issue is occurring due to a corrupted cloud save file. Let’s hope not though. If that is the case, there is nothing that can be done.
Often this occurs due to services that have stopped running. Make sure that all of your Xbox Services such as “Xbox Live Game Save” are running automatically.
In the Windows search bar, type “Services”
Select “Services”
Scroll down to the bottom. Double-click on each entry for Xbox and make sure none of those services are disabled or set to manual. Set everything to “Automatic”.
If any of these services had stopped, try launching MSFS once again and things should return to normal.
This just happened to me. On startup (after having using the sim for over a year) all of a sudden it wants to configure my setup from scratch. I suspect that it had trouble getting my setting from the cloud due to a connection flood on Friday afternoon right before Christmas. From perusing posts about connectivity (especially after an update release), I should think that Asobo would be finding ways to NOT FRUSTRATE their customers by OFFLOADING ALL OF THE SETTINGS and things that are particular to each install LOCALLY. Ok, if you want may settings for any Big Data AI then so be it; but don’t send me in a tizzy and make me redo and verify the multitude of settings in the sim when your systems are overloaded because you don’t want to go to the expense of building out enough for heavy load times. This just leads to more an more disgruntled simmers like me.
COME ON MAN!
