For non-US users there are many missing waypoints such as VFR waypoints or fixes only uses by category A or B aircraft because LIDO does not support light aircraft.
All visible parts of the various current systems already support most if not all of this so while I could be wrong, I don’t think it is a big change.
The flight planner allows us to click on a map to create a custom fix which is appreciated, but this has two issues.
- The fix is not named. OHB is a lot easier to understand that GPS coords.
- We have to position the fix manually each time we use it. For some of us, that is frequently.
A third issue is thar even if I create a flight plan and give the “User” waypoint type a name. The name is ignored and not displayed in the GPS units. This seems odd seeing it is read by other waypoint types.
At present I use other software to do this for me. But I’d love to be able to use the new FS planner. Because it is pretty darn nifty.
