It’s still hanging at checking for updates
It is not fixed
There is no solution yet
Really really tired of restarting many times just to watch that thing spin forever
Restarted 4 times so far, stare at bora bora for several minutes then hang just the same way at the same place
Nope, not fixed. It’s still there.
It’s still hanging up at checking for updates.
Not fixed
But I can bypass the updates screen and hanging at the next blue-bar screen,
and fly with everything working great
This is not fixed!!!
Hang at updates,
Next it gets by that and hangs at the next screen!
Restart again and again.
But then it works finally.
This has been happening the last few days - I have to fight with the sim, restarting several times, then it’s ok.
Four restarts to get past checking for updates hang up,
But working great finally
No hangups, worked perfectly from startup for about an hour of various flights, mostly from small fields wherever it was raining.
Got one disconnect/successful reconnect message, no low bandwidth hassles.
Finally tried New York, noticed weather stopped loading on the globe before flight but it was working when flight started.
Degraded into melted clay buildings after a few minutes so I shut it off.
Amazing and much better!
Not working again, is this ever going to get fixed???
5 restarts and hanging at the updates again
What is the problem??
Fix it please???

XboxX here, looks like that’s almost all for pc?
I’ll try deleting all updates if that might help.
Able to get in and fly now, by bypassing the updates screen and restarting the box when it freezes before loading the menu.
Then I get the globe without WX loading and can fly, with weather loading for the flights.
Flying works perfectly usually, but data performance is worse today
And it will hang if I try to quit back to main menu
But the store is not available and content manager only has the spinner going round and round so will try if I can get in…properly later
I’m wondering if it’s a regional thing. It’s only happened to me twice since I’ve had the sim (3-and-bit years) and I’m on Western Europe. Maybe people with the issue could report what their server is? Just a thought.
Are you sure? Lately, it has been taking a long time but it gets there eventually (I’m on PC).
It hangs. The blue bar goes almost all the way over, then goes real slow the rest of the way, then it hangs there.
Still have not been able to get past checking for updates normally today,
Just flew over Venice for twenty minutes, flawless performance, details perfect.
The flight engine is working, the shell program is where the hangs are
Hello @Snowleopard3295,
I would suggest contacting support through Zendesk for further assistance.
Thank you, really appreciate the help.
I think I found a fix - disable IPv6 on your router.
Another thread has a post suggesting that bing may be incompatible with it.
No more hang ups anywhere, all graphics and maps and WX loading fast, all flights excellent performance.
Store and content working and downloading fast.
Two sim restarts and one xbox restart and still good, hope this was it

If disabling IPv6 has fixed it, I would consider checking your router configuration and maybe even contact your ISP to make sure they are transmitting that traffic correctly. IPv6 is now common and generally not causing problems for those of us with it enabled. I think Xbox also has a setting for that, which may be part of the issue as well.
So far it is fixed, not one error or hang since I changed that setting.
All the little pics in the marketplace load fast, used to be very slow or not at all.
Back to the skies
Could you, please, explain how to disable IPv6 on the router.
Thanks. Really miss flying.
Pretty hard to do since all router configurations differ. You should be able to download the user manual and disable IPv6 and use only IPv4.
I’m on Xbox X with an internet air cellular hub so I don’t know if it will be the same,
Log into the hub, and on mine it’s the ‘ home network’ tab, and there’s a page for IPv6,
I just shut it off there and saved it, it no longer shows up on the Xbox network config screen
And still restarting with no errors and all real good
