Always start with a wrong (sim pre-selected) Runway

Hello guys,

I have beening playing MSFS2020 for 1 year and so far everything was good.
but today I found that the the simulator always start from its designated runway even if selected another one.

for example when I enter the world map, and select airport ZSAM, the default departure is Runway is 23, and then I selecte Runway 05 as departure Runway.
But when I click “fly” and enter the gamet, the aircraft appears on Runway 23 anyway. This issue happens whichever airport I chose.

Could anybody tell me what happen to my sim or any possible wrong operation will lead to this issue? and how to fix it?

Does that mean the program intentionally disable the players from chosing the runway they want? and instead, it will chose the logical correct runway according to the wind bearing? that make sense to me now.

I just tried applying the live weather, and the simulator then allowed me to chose any runway I want :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Yes, exactly, that’s the logic when this option is set to OFF. When set to ON, ATC enforce the runway selection you’ve made whatever the wind direction is.
