Yes, this has happened since I bought msfs in July, so I have rebooted my PC multiple times.
Thanks for the tip about the usercfg file. I found it and discovered that the windowed setting was set to on, even though I had changed the option in the ui to fullscreen. The config file was not set to read only.
I changed the option in the config file and the sim started in fullscreen.
