I updated the referenced addon yesterday, not realizing that doing so would add various metric displays to my in-game screen – I thought it simply was an update of the low key metric on frame rates, etc. I then tried to get rid of the displays by removing the addon from my community folder, but despite several tries, the displays remain. Has anyone else encountered this problem or know how to get rid of the displays?
Did you turn on the Heads up display?
Go into Assistance Options → User Experience → Instrument Heads Up Display
There is one for internal view and one for external that you can set to off.
Or, is it the frame rates, etc showing?
If so, go into General Options → Developer and turn off Dev mode.

Your solution worked. I never would have guessed that I needed to go into the Assistance Options, as I had never before used – or even noticed – the heads up display options, save for years ago when playing the former version of the sim. I guess that the update to ShiftZ must have triggered the heads up displays. So many thanks for the assist.

I still have v1.1.4 from march 2022 
I had not done any updates from .to for a very long time (i.e., I was 293 updates behind), so I do think the Shift Z Stats update I made is the same one you mentioned.
