So I installed this.
With my 7950X3D I see no noticeable increase in performance. Same plane at the same gate at the same airport with the same apps running. The exact same high and low fps. I wasn’t expecting much but I had hoped for an extra frame or two at the high and low end. (4070 Super OC, Pimax Crystal, DLSS Balanced, most settings at medium or low.)
It’s worth noting that any CPU improvement is only going to help if your MSFS setup is CPU bound and not if GPU bound.
Most of us are CPU bound around complex areas but may not be elsewhere.
What I’m still not clear about: does this update only correct an error that was present in an earlier WIn 11 Build, or would it be a reason to upgrade from Win 10 to Win 11?
I had “fun with windows” this weekend, running multiple reinstalls to scrub away the Pimax bits left behind. Turns out “Reset and Keep” along with “Reset as New” both fail to create a clean install. Each time I had an old Tobii eye tracker service running after each install, even though I have no camera on this PC. Clearly, MS was taking a snapshot of what was on the machine, build a new image with the old issues in it, and sending it back to me.
Finally, I created offline media, and got a clean install of windows 10. Just a heads up.
