And I suspect you’re correct. Just like AMD’s ray tracing is about on par with nVidia’s first kick at the can, I expect at best we’ll expect similar results with FSR. We’ll likely see more mature implementations of both those technologies from AMD in the next generation / iteration.
Still though, based on what AMD have said (and why it works on any recent model video card) the tech media are describing it as software-based spatial antialiasing applied to each frame after rendering (post processing), so if that’s indeed correct, it’s a very different thing from DLSS, which is applied as part of the rendering pipeline.
