An amateurish attempt to analyze semi-periodic stutters that appeared for me as of SU14

I am doing more testing, but it appears to be related to the complexity of the scenery. More to follow.

I think I have found the problem. The FBW32NX terrain radar. Once I turned that off, the issue disappeared. The Andes mountains look beautiful at TLOD 175 and 45 fps.

OK, seems you had a very different problem

Happy you fixed it though.

Today the problem seems all but fixed, even though I didn’t change anything. No CPU spikes, virtually no stutters. Maybe it was server related after all? Very strange. I wonder how it will be in 2 days… anyone else see an improvement?

Could just be the area I’m flying in, but it’s pretty much just as rural as the one I did the initial testing in.

I have a totally different problem (addressed in this topic: A320Neo Engine Shut Down inflight, recurring issue, but there is a factor in common : the last SU. This seems to be a recurrent behavior of the software, for more than two years already, every time there is a SU, lots of problems arise. It will be great that the developers run a cost benefit analysis before doing this updates. I think most of us would be happier with an “outdated” scenery or terrain elevation, if the cost of having the updated version will be that our user experience is demolished. Just my two cents…

Yeah something goes wrong far too often with these SUs. I’m already curious what issues FS2024 will have at launch…
