[Announcement] FS Trains: North America

Yup, try this one:

Is there another link to join the discord? The link that you have posted does not work. I also wanted to ask if there was a way to contact StevenPearce833? I wanted to let him know of a problem that I have been having with the FS Trains North America scenery so that he can fix it. The FS Trains scenery is causing MSFS 2024 to freeze and crash when I fly in the northern Washington DC area, particularly around the College Park Maryland airport. I have narrowed it down to the FS Trains North America scenery disabling everything then reenabling items one at a time. Every time that I disable FS Trains North America the freezing and MSFS crashing in this area stops. When I reenable FS Trains North America the program freezing and MSFS crashing in this area immediately begins again. It crashes the program when FS Trains North America is the only add on enabled. It appears to only be a MSFS 2024 problem as it does not crash the program in the old MSFS 2020. It also only seems to be happening around the College Park Airport area in northern Washington DC as it seems to work alright in MSFS 2024 everywhere else. Do you know how I can report this to StevenPearce833 so that he can fix it since he hasn’t been on here in a while? Should I send him a private message here or does he have an email or website for FS Trains North America? Please let me know and thank you for your help.

I tried starting a flight at College Park, KCGS, and the sim froze. Disabling FS Trains solved the problem.

If you hear back from the developer, please let us know.

It also freezes in the Pittsburgh/KAGC area..uninstall FSTrains and it works with no freezes. I’m hoping this can be fixed as I just bought FSTrains

Are you guys running SU3 or beta SU4?

I tried it on both SU3 and SU4beta

I see FSTrains is now on a good discount. Is it working fine with 2024? The ratings aren’t great which is why I ask.

I loved it when it was working in 2024, but then it caused the game to freeze when I flew in heavier areas (see my entry about Buffalo in this same thread here) and I know others have reported problems as well. And unfortunately, nothing from the developer on any updates, but I think he said he’d look into it. I’m hoping he’ll fix this before working more on his Euro version, since that seems to be running well (according to the boards) and this one is not.

Someone had also mentioned (either on here or on the FSTrains discord) that they downloaded and ran the package locally (and therefore didn’t stream it), and it worked fine. I haven’t tried that yet, but if it’s on a good sale, you could always get it, try to run it locally and see what happens. Worst case, you disable it but keep it, and hope for an update. But again, it only faltered for me around Buffalo area…when I’d fly in less congested places (which I did so in various places with no problems), it was a thrill to see the trains pass underneath me. Good luck!
