Any plans to eventually do the version that had retractable wing floats?
they did already
Ah, cool! I just went back to the start of the thread and saw the fixed pontoons.
They updated the old Ozx Goose for MFS, and that had the retractable floats. Although an older model, it’s still brilliant in this sim, try it, you’ll see.
This is a completely new model, now with the fixed floats.
I agree. I’m currently flying the Redux II Goose around Canada (in VR) and I wanted something like having an iPad in the cockpit with me. Even to toolbar 750 was too much. Found something that utilises Open Street Map. Perfect. Not everything needs to be modern.
Will there be a blister window option?
Wikipedia tells me that all 50 JRF-6Bs were built for Lend-Lease which I assume means they went to the Poms. It also tells me the British JRF-6s had blister windows.
Not that this is make or break. I’ll be happy with whatever you decide on. And I like the fidelity of the ‘straight off the production line’ approach.
Are you going to be working with Authentikit for the Goose?
I wasn’t too big of a fan of how the engines went from off to idle RPM in half a second - I am thinking this might have something to do with the streamer having the mags and starter mapped to the same button. I swear I had seen a stream earlier with the engines starting properly.
Still very much looking forward to the Goose! Hopefully see some more content (or better yet, release day) soon.
Yeah, I think the Fabio video posted a couple weeks ago had a better startup sequence. That said, it was nice to see a longer view of the plane in action.
Hmmm looks like someone updated their website… must mean that a new release is immenent:
Really, really excited by this!
The site looks great!
Very cool of you to give the shout outs to fellow developers. A class act.
Excited for the Goose, but iirc first was the ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ release which was to be a bit simpler, was there an estimate to when the more complex ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ update/features would follow?
Just curious.
If it’s like their P-40 release then there might be some optional toggle-able stuff to activate some more advanced stuff like with the flap and gear hydraulic pump system in the P-40 as covered in the chapter 'How to Operate Flaps and Gear Like a BOSS" of the P-40 manual which would be ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■. But I don’t really take the ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ tag as anything more than a bit of lighthearted banter really.
Anyway back to hitting F5 on the site so I can ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
Yea #FlyTheDamnPlane and #ReadTheDamnManual are the two core fundamentals for when we create aircraft. It means:
- Create something that is fun and accessible
- Allow for depth within the aircraft to create a lasting experience
FTDP means you can just jump into any of our planes and have some fun
RTDM means, once the fun has finished you can dig deeper into the aircraft and fly her like she’s meant to.
Big hearty lol at the censoring of the big evil D word. Anyway eagerly waiting to fly the CondemedToThe ValleyOfHinnom plane!
I think I just wore out my F5 key…
That’s what I meant, I thought you guys had said way up thread that one would be coming later than the other. Is that still the plan/is there an estimate for when the rest comes?
I don’t think @OzWookiee was referring to two stages of the product….more like two stages of the user experience. I could be wrong though.
I just read all @OzWookiee and @LeprechaunLive posts in this thread and didn’t see it, so unless it was mentioned during the Livestream with Fabio then maybe I was mistaken about the #FTDP coming first and the #RTDM options coming later.
