I was having this yesterday evening as well. Constant loss of connection and that annoying popup.
Those servers are for multiplayer only. They have no impact on the cloud assets streamed to you in the sim. All they do is determine what group of other live players you see in the world with you.
What node of the CDN you get your data streamed from is dependent upon your physical location in the world. As end users, we have no control over that. The only way you can switch where your data is being streamed from is using a VPN.
