Not sure what is happening… second time in the last few weeks I am forced into a large download.
When that happens you have to be sure you have it pointed at the correct folder.
My install isnt in the default location so I end up having to point the install at - D:\Microsoft Flight Simulator
which seems entirely too simple but for me is correct. After that it found the program and no need for any download.
You shouldn’t have to download the whole game again, i have this 90GiB show when ever i load the game ready for a new update, i just click “browse” and locate my install folder, point to ( package folder ) and press update.
My steam install is on a seperate ssd m.2 drive and points to
D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator\Packages
If i load the sim i and don’t see the file location above, then see the 90GiB, that’s when i locate (browse) the above file location and click update. Solves the issue.
I wonder if you are still ‘subscribed’ to beta in the insider hub?
Other who are have been reporting a similar issue. More information that may be relevant can be found in this thread:
Are you running some type of file cleaner?
I use CCleaner and I’m fairly sure it deleted the F out of my flight logs.
For some reason it seems the file the game checks to see whats what isnt where it should be or it’s being removed?
