Any "easy" way to identify unwanted Aircrft Engine sounds from AI planese

Is there Any “easy” way to identify unwanted Aircraft Engine sounds from AI planes – without having to add/install them back into Community / Official, and restart MSFS each time.

The sudden appearance of other AI aircraft Noises (engine running), in my Cockpit, its really starting to become tiresome.

Am I the only one experiencing this, now that have I a reasonable collection of #PD planes in my community folder .

Any know 3PD planes cause this ??

Does anyone know if it’s a generic sound for all AI aircraft of if there are differences for the aircraft type?

When there is AI traffic it mostly sounds the same from all aircraft, but then again most AI traffic seems to be jets.

When I have lots of traffic I have sounds from all around too and yes, it is hard to determine where it is coming from.

I use the drone and go sound chasing sometimes - it can help figure out where it’s coming from but it’s not a quick solution and takes you out of the cockpit.

Thanks, I believe I have found the offending plane … Carenado M20 ( latest version !!) - at least when I removed it, the sound has not come back . - and with the drone, the sound was loudest when I was by it as an AI plane, and its engine was running.

I think Wombii did a fix the effectively remove AI sounds for some specific aircraft, – I thought I had it, but cannot find it now !!.

Should be a simple edit to add the … ( BOOM)

And there goes another AI plane, making an excessive noise in my Cockpit …
Could this be being caused by a recent Asobo beta update ??

Now its the Carenado Seminole !!

Glad you got it partly working ?

There were these bugs, the second more recent but both suppose to be resolved, any A310 in your AI traffic at the moment ? …

I had the same issue. Turns out it was one of the Carenado planes I bought. It went away after I uninstalled it.

Yes, in my case as well it was the Two Carenado GA planes i had bought some time ago.

The Ovation and the Seminole.

@WombiiActual has a temporary FIX for JN4 & A310s that have this issue, (That removes the AI sound) and its really easy to add other planes to that “NO AI sound”

However, since this BUG seems to have been introduced in SU11, hopefully it will be fixed by Asobo in SU12 .

It’s actually a bug by Carenado. They make it consistently among their models.

I’ve had it before SU11, iirc.

Thanks @Pieter2427

I have combined CCM list of planes, with Wombii’e list, and added a few other Carenado plane, so now hopefully, I will not experience those loud plane noises in my cockpit !!

Is it know exactly what they are doing incorrectly , that causes this,
It seems they are not the only 3PD that has this issue ?

I don’t think it’s 100% known what causes it in the case of those planes, but it is something that is very easy to cause on purpose for replication by using the wrong output bus for the sound in wwise. All sounds in the _AI wwise package needs to be routed to the _ai output bus, not the _player outbut bus.

I don’t think we can decompile the packaged .pck sound file, so there’s no way for anyone but the dev to verify if it’s something simple like this or if it’s a different, more complicated problem.

I would think that if it was this simple mistake it would have been fixed minutes after the first report, so that suggests something more complicated.

This was happening since before SU11 (First I remember was in Jan 2022), but SU11 was the first time a default plane had this problem, so it affected everyone.

@WombiiActual It “Sounds” like you understand this “Inside-Out” .

Lets hope other do, and it gets fixed for SU12

Yep Carenado are notorious for having this issue with most of their fleet, and they just point blank refuse to acknowledge it, let alone fix it. A couple of other devs also have it (the Airplane Heaven Mk1 spit is one example which they eventually fixed, and the Flight FX Honda Jet still has this issue) but Carenado are by far the worst offenders I have 3 of their planes (one of them is the Mooney which was released shortly after the sim was released in 2020 and they STILL haven’t fixed it).

The only plane Carenado fixed was the Staggerwing, and no doubt that was because it was developed in conjunction with Asobo, so they probably didn’t have a choice in the matter.
