Looking to fly with C172 pilots in this area.
Yes sir. I am.
So, what’s your opinion of MSFS so far? I’m a little disappointed in the graphics and the sensitivity of the controls. I know the sim is still a constant work in progress, but it seems as though every time there’s an update, another problem arises…
All that being said, it would be cool to fly with someone else in the Tulsa area. I pretty much stick to the C172, because that’s what I learned to fly in. I have very little desire to fly commercial airliners or helicopters at this point. I learned to fly in Southern California, and tend to fly in that area a lot, and I fly mostly in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, and Texas.
I’m in Tulsa. Anybody else still out there? I’m a PPL that has had to revert to Flightsim only, thanks to the FAA. Would like to get to know some sim pilots or real pilots.
Good evening!
I’m a sim pilot as well as a PPL, also. It wasn’t the FAA that got me…it was Covid. It shut down the flight school where I used to rent a C172. To my knowledge, it never reopened There are other places to rent now, but the costs have gone up so much it’s no longer feasible.
I do fly the sim now, mostly MSFS 2020. The release of MSFS 2024 has been just as much a disaster as when 2020 was dumped on the sim community. It seems that most simmers don’t remember what a mess that was in the beginning. There were software bugs galore and NO manuals or guides to be had. I purchased MSFS 2024, but decided to uninstall it until it is worth the stress of setting up all the bindings for the Turtle Beach yoke and Throttle quadrant. There was nothing intuitive about either version, and Microsoft obviously feels we should just learn to get our solutions from the sim community. I understand that it is much cheaper to release a product like a flight sim and let the community find all the bugs instead of hiring more people to search for the problems they created.
At any rate, it is what it is. I live in Tulsa as well and fly when the urge strikes. I also have a racing sim, and jump on it from time to time.
Keep in touch. Tell me about your setup for the flight sim.
