Any suggestions to improve the water?

Flying at medium altitudes the water appears in square tiles with lines heading into the horizon. It’s hard to describe but it’s as if the texture isn’t seamless.

Are there any improvements or tweaks to make this issue go away as it’s quite an immersion killer?

A screenshot would help immensely.

Did you delete the rolling cache after the update?
Are your drivers current?

Yes, frequently update and delete the cache.

The issue has always been there, at least since SU5 as that’s when it became more prominent to me.

They call it tessellation.

Very few have this effect nowadays.
It was quite prominent in the older MS sims.
Most causes are found to be related to outdated GPU drivers.
Do you have any third party scenery texture addons?

I would say it’s probably texture tiling where a small water texture is repeated over and over. I too think it does not look good. It was a bit better in earlier versions and depends also on wind/wave size.

To me it’s been there since day one before SU5. It seems less noticeable with calmer winds but when the winds pick up and the waves get strong, from some angles the repeating pattern is painfully obvious.

Whenever I want to “show off” MSFS for someone I create winds at the surface level to make waves appear. I’m not sure if that’s what you want, but it works for me.

Is this the issue you’re describing? The shots are taken from the fairly recent Australia World Update trailer. That tiling artifact has been rather prominent since the 2019 pre-alpha footage.

I have LOD at 200
