Any Tips for Coding Yoke and Throttle Quadrant?

I have the Honeycomb yoke, and I’ll be receiving today the Bravo Throttle Quadrant. For the past two months, I’ve been flying strictly VR, and I expect that will not change anytime soon. Anybody have tips on which functions to prioritize for coding on these two peripherals, especially for use in VR. So far I’m finding it OK to use mouse and keyboard, but I’m guessing it’s very different with a lot of switches and knobs. How long did it take you to get accustomed to using the yoke and throttle without being able to see them?
