Anyone else having less fps in 1.8.3.0?

I have seen lots of people here with increased performance since the last patch, some almost doubling fps  . I would like to make a thread for those like me with decreased performance.

In my case, I could make about 40 to 45 fps once airborn in pretty much anywhere with maxed settings (and I mean maxed everything) at 2560x1080 and 130 scale resolution with my OC’ed 1080ti, 6700k. After the patch I can barely sustain 35/40 in the same situations with no any graphics improvements, pretty much the opposite, so what gives?.

On top of that, the new screens rate setting is a joke to me, I mean, other than ultra (which still feel stuttery, clunky and worse than before) the fps rate of the screens is simply unacceptable, yet I lost about 5fps in general with exactly the same settings as before? WTH? :expressionless:

On the bright side, my 6700k finally stopped topping at 100% as terrain loads, which caused massive stuttering and micro pauses before, great news!, but over big airports, I experience some huge fps drops, again worse than before patch, while the cpu usage drops to 20/30% and the gpu usage drops too to 60/75%. No maxed ram either (32gb) so what’s going on?.

I only did a short test flight today, but I have the same feeling. Before the patch, I got 40-50 FPS and today they went as low as 31 (usually being around 42/43). I will need to do some more test flights to confirm

Hardware: i7-9700, GTX 1660S, 16 GB RAM
Graphic settings: high-end (nothing changed between patches)

Same here, so far. Used to get 30-40 fps, at least, at Gibraltar airport. Now it struggles around 20-25 mostly. Outside graphics seem a bit degraded somehow and cockpit instruments tend to lag. I’m running on i8700k and rx580. I really can’t see the benefit of this patch so far, quite the opposite, but might be something I missed.

Same here.
Used to be 30 fps with 4k resolution. Now I only get 20-23fps and more stutter.

Frames here are up about 10fps since update

A good 3-5fps increase on average after the patch and Nvidia driver update. Hard to say which has improved it but it’s better for me R9 3900X GTX 2060S 32GB

Patch seems to favor older gear, CPU bound. I lost FPS with an I7-10700.

don’t think so, Im running 6700k and 1080ti and fps loss. I think it is actually the opposite, 2xxx series users seem to be the ones with improved performance.

I got a huge fps boost. Like 10-15fps in cockpit and 10-20fps outside while the CPU load is also much better spreaded across the cores and the overall load is reduced by 10-15%.
(Xeon 1230-v3 and AMD RX 5700).

For people like me, who play with an older CPU, this update was a huge success (except the Azure voice bug)

I don’t see major improvement on my side either, I mean it’s a bit better, I get mayber 3 to 5 fps more overall but in busy areas like KLAX with trafic at 80% I still get 17-19 FPS on the Airbus 320.

My setup:
Asus P6T SE (X58)
Inter Xeon X5690 @ 4.0G hz (OCed)
GForce GTX 1070 (OCed)
24 Gb or ram

I wonder if the reason for the huge improvement some are experiencing is because they downgraded certain levels of the settings, I mean, maybe they reduced quality of low-mid settings so people not running ultra/maxed have more fps while those running higher settings are not getting any improvement or an improvement decrease.

Major improvements on my end.

Although performance wasn’t really the issue. I could get 40-50 FPS on high before and still get 40-50 FPS but pre patch I would freeze for a few seconds at least once every 3 minutes. That has totally gone in the latest patch and I just get a steady smooth experience now.

Props to Asobo as well for releasing the patch before everyone’s game pass ran out. I thought I would have to get game pass again to test it to make sure this patch worked for me before I bought the sim but they released it the day before game pass ran out

Good fps improvements here with my Radeon Asus Rog Rx5700. Jetliners cockpits are now smooth without stuttering.

Landing in JFK with airliners, my usual FPS in the cockpit is in the mid 20s. I thought the patch was supposed to improve performance. My settings for graphics are on high. Is there something unusual about my performance or is it the same for everyone else? I tried fiddling with settings in the nvidia control panel, but that wouldn’t do anything about the performance at this airport.
