Anyone else spend a long time on the world map trying to decide where to fly?

LetsFly reminds me so much of a 2008 add-on called Destination Finder 2.0 by Martin Gleeson, which I still use today, and can be found in the flightsim.com File Library.

Never heard of it, but could have used that back then…

152 is a great tool… I’ve done a lot of hours in it…

Fantastic little airplane, in real life and in the sim.

You can try searching for “Top ten scenic flights”, or “Top ten landings”, “scary landings”, etc. in google, you’ll find quite a few out there. I used a couple to get my first look at what other people thought were the most beautiful places to land, and the 10 most challenging landings.

I also started a Youtube series “8 Wonders of Britain and Ireland” to highlight what I thought would be the best places to go see in an aircraft, the first two were “Loch Ness”, where I flew from the East to West coast of Scotland down the series of Lochs that include Loch Ness and “The Lake District”, flying from Blackpool over the lakes and landing at Carlisle.

SOOO great I should be able to do a flyover and see Blackpool Tower now, instead of just the shadow !!!

I really like the Aerolite 103 for exploring scenery but be aware it has a myriad of little issues - like invisible retractable gear and a reversed slip ball. Nothing you cannot work around mind you, just remember if you spawn in the air you will need to “lower” the invisible gear before landing or you will crash on landing

Fantastic little thing for exploring scenery though …

Not going to lie OP I’m much like you. I load her up get to the globe and I either milk for 15 minutes or 95% of the time I load up my local airfield and do local circuits out of there.

I fly out of YLTV Traralgon, Australia, it’s not much, its rural, but it looks so much like home in game that I’m quite happy to just do circuits or fly within 20nm of home.

You don’t always have to have grand plans of seeing the world, sometimes seeing your own backyard from a different perspective makes the whole sim worthwhile.

Give me 50 thousand airports but you know what, I love the 4 to 5 around me.

I find this works quite well for me as you can include various parameters.

Other than that I get random routes from the virtual airlines i fly for.
