Anyone else still only 2020

I kept hearing about terrain color issues when I was just in 2020. Now that I am new to 2024, I really don’t see any more issues with one over the other.
If anything, 2024 seems slightly brighter or “alive”, which I like, though others might like the darker 2020.
It’s a small difference.

Very true, and as beautiful as the new terrain and scenery maps are, it’s just lazy design to not blend the edges into the surrounding landscape more gracefully. One of these days they’ll get around to putting an artistic team to work on these and the many other issues our shared aerials now have. AS far as wanting or not wanting WU22 in MSFS2020, you can always ignore and not install it. To me it’s still important that we have that choice in MSFS 2020, and right now we don’t.

As i fly on the darkside( xbox) i am still amazed how smooth 2020 runs and how detailed the world is on my system. i as for yet see no point in moving yet.

Since I have many posts telling why I stayed on 2020, I should now tell why I am strictly on 2024. The obvious one- updates and new addons by developers are becoming more and more scarce for 2020.
Now that I have experience in both, I have to say that the visuals, as wonderful as they are in 2020, are even more incredible in 2024. The world just seems more “alive” and colorful (not in a phony way). Clouds seem more real and the water is really better. Flying and landing an amphibean was amazing. The trees in the default and addon sceneries are more believable as well.
After many obscenities and much Googling to figure out how to do things and learning the new (non-intuitive) controls UI, I am loving it.

In addition, I get 30% better FPS than I did in 2020, without changing anything, and the initial load time is about 1/3 as long.

Is there anything “wrong” with 2020? Absolutely not, but I do see the results of the “4 years later” technology. Glad I waited almost 2 years before making the switch since it seems to take that long for Asobo to make a flightsim really shine.

Bijans Seasons enhanced is and continues to be a must.

Did my first flight in a long time on 2020, F100 eggp to egff. Was flawless and the ground textures so much sharper than 2024.

Yes, and I am noticing a recurring issue. It seems that at certain airports the taxiway signs are inaccurate. For example, at Anoka County/Blaine (KANE) a lot of the taxiways are inaccurate such as there being a taxiway J, when the taxiways only go up to F. Please fix!!!

Fired up 2020 today let it update. the Buckner Jungmann was one of the 2020 aircraft updates. Took off from Gillespie Field in the San Diego area, flew west to downtown. Framerate tanked at about 33FPS in some areas.
Restarted my PC…3060TI, I5 14600K, 64GIG ddr4. Flew the same route in the Buckner. Downtown San Diego was more detailed and FPS never went below 51FPS.
2024 wins by a long shot.
It’s just better, guys and gals.

do the same in pmdg or inibuild airliner

There are still days when a quick joyflight in MSFS 2020 is an immensely satisfying experience.

I use both 2020 and 2024. Each has its own pros and cons of course.

Still using 2020 enjoying very much.

Strange thing happened on latest update a few days ago. It turned on the helicopter assists for some reason and maybe some other settings but not sure.

Will get to 2024 eventually but from most of what I’ve read, the binding system is quite daunting.

I have only had FS2020 since last August, and on my PC - which is from 2020 it runs just about right, but would not run FS24. My new laptop runs FS20 like a dream, so at the moment I would not upgrade. When I get a new PC, I might consider it, but for me the PC is the stumbbling block.

Still on MSFS 2020, love it

For me, the big advantage of FS2020 is that I’ve already paid for it.

Not gonna fork out again just for a shiny new one.

Still using MS2020 flying PMDG 737 not keen to pay extra for 2024 and update PMDG .

I have a number of controllers, Winwing FMC, Autopilot, throttles, additional scree etc all mapped perfectly with mobifllight and it works.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!
