“Safe Mode” starts up the sim without any of your addons.
That includes Marketplace purchases installed through the Community Manager, and items that you installed in your Community Folder.
This mode is normally used when you have an issue causing a CTD and eliminates mod conflicts as a cause.

Rarely use it here unless the crash repeats after a few attempts.
So for example last night after 8 hours of updates, I started a flight and got a CTD…
I skipped Safe Mode and all was fine. If the CTD had happened again a couple of times then I would try safe mode.
No as it never was related to “safe mode” type of items. Wish there was option to submit / send report to MSFS so they can see / investigate root cause of crash,.
Thankfully, over time, this is now a more rare occurrence than it was 8-12 months ago. While it still does crash once in a while, it is not as often. Most of the time I get it now is when flying into an area were there is buggy scenery which causes graphics driver to time-out / crash MSFS / stutter really bad.
