Anyone Running Ultra Settings With Steady FPS?

Would love to know if anyone is maxing out the settings with a constant 30+ FPS? If so, what specs are you running?

Hi Im running ultra sett. Intel I7 6700k, geforce 2080 ti, 32 gb ram, ssd disc fs2020 instaleed only, resolution 3440x1440,for example in NYC i get 35-40 fps, in the country 40-50 fps. But I have newest driver and newest windows 10 update, since the first day i did not have any negative issue…runs smoothly…

That’s pretty impressive. :+1: :+1: :+1:

Is there an in-app toggle/command to display fps or only 3rd party?

Switch on developer mode then you gen get an fps overlay with a lot of info

Running mostly ultra 1080p fairly smooth in most regions, occasional drops to 20 depending on region and plane

Fps can be turned on in the steam settings

Is there a guide to what all that info is? I assume the top number is the FPS, but what is everything else?

Can that overlay be moved around at all?

Would be interested to know what the point of ultra mode is, if nobody can maintain fps at a steady and stable rate with the best gpus available

D’oh. I walked into that one by not specifying I’m not using steam. Thanks for replying though! I’m sure that’ll be handy for steam users who wander into the thread @ least.

You must be an outlier as I have a 2080ti and i7 9700k and cannot get that in 1080p…

Everything set to ULTRA (except resolution, default 100) FPS limited with NVIDIA Control Panel to 33FPS - FPS pretty constant at 33 FPS even above the cities - but my resolution is 5760x1080 (nvidia sorround) 3 x 27" screens - RIG: 9800X@4.6 Ghz, 32 GB@3200Mhz, MSI Gaming TrioX 2080Ti, all ssd’s ! but back to the previous NVIDIA driver - runs clearly better, is no placebo ! sporadic stuttering is still present, but not always noticeable! roaming cache enabled on second drive 150 GB !
cheers!

No idea on docs. Gpu and main thread timings are how long it takes for the gpu or your primary game thread to produce a frame (1000/60 would correspond to 60fps). The other 2 rdrthread and coherentdraw seem to be tied to disk loading / reading data and UI drawing operations respectively.

:bear: in mind that this is largely conjecture right now

I think it’s a future proofing thing. I just want to know if anyone is close to max settings…

Heard of crisis?

Mine has been smooth so far with 3700x and 5700xt and 32 gig ram (4000) asrock mb x570 2tb nvme ssd. No noticeable issues others have reported. Running mostly ultra (2 settings turned 1 notch down) and dual 1440p monitors (All pop outs on 2nd). Avg 45fps.
I really think this sim pronounces the bandwidth of systems instead of raw power of gpu or cpu or cores. Architecture is everything. If you’re running a 2080 super but running a cpu, hdd or mem that is lower in total bandwidth it is going to suffer. I think optimizations will help with this but it is really about finding the balance between your system setup and the sim.

What I find strange is that the weather “clear skies” has lower fps that a cloudy skies,in Prepar3d iand xplane it was oposite, more clouds lower fps…

Agree 100%, my pc is water cooled , avoiding bottlenecks…

I have a feeling that this may have more to do with shadows and reflections having to be drawn in full or partial sunlight. Clouds seem to be optimized pretty well. Better than the old days of Falcon4 and LOMAC, wanted to run clouds you took a 20fps hit.

btw, there have been a lot of comparison between ultra/high and the difference is so small that in my opinion ultra is not worth the fps loss :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes, agree,What I find amazing is that since day one the game never crushed or froze…
