Guess, I am playing OnAir wrong. I am making millions having Boeings flying for me and I rarely happen to make a flight myself, because it doesn‘t seem to be an economic use of my time…
@Tabbone try Stratus world in survival mode…
Survival mode? Do you have to forage for nuts, and berries?
Likely…but you even have to worry about fuel cost. It is not realistic, but a lot harder than Cumulus.
Or try Thunder world. No AI pilots, everything has to be flewn by yourself at a much more reduced revenue. Good luck owning that Boeing anytime this year…
thats the easy method try thunder where YOU have to do the work and not rely on AI
That could fix it. Anyway, I am enjoying it also right now the way it is. I want the bugs to be fixed before I join Thunder. Losing reputation to bugs is not fun…
Now i have done a work order with 20 legs and the AI broke it after 5 legs due to weather conditions. And also created a second work order, to earn some money before i come home, that cant be started. I wish that useless android app would work and let me change or start work orders.
and what you fail to mention was that they gave ALL members an extra week so rather than a week trial you actually got 2 weeks but lets leave that good part out of your comment shall we
I think perhaps you are thinking of a different week mate… my week was up shortly after and that was that (it was a while back now so expect there was further outage later?). I suggest next time before you begin with the “shall we” defensive comments you politely ask for details first as that was a little rude.
Looks interesting. I need something to give me more of a purpose and encourage me to fly to and from different destinations.
Has anyone tried using this on a tablet hooked up to the pc running the sim? Is this functionality supported by Onair?
There is a mobile app on the app stores but it is very limited just now they are planning on updating the app in the next few months/2021
Thanks that is good to know. Hopefully it will coincide with reliability improvements to give true confidence that third P programmes won’t affect performance.
Well. I am still playing and really trying to have fun, but:
-
We have A320´s with 300+ passenger seats on the servers. As long as we see active cheating the “persistent world” doesnt make any sense to me.
-
The new crash detection is also slightly mis-balanced. A 500 fpm landing leads to a cancellation of the whole flight (4 hours for me - just sayin).
-
some work orders don´t start without a given reason
-
no scheduled flight plans possible
-
filtering of jobs needs an overhaul - you need external lists or excel tables to find the appropiate jobs for your fleet, including range, capacity, fuel availibility
-
renting jets from grass strips without fuel is unrealistic
Well. So much to do for the guys, but still charging netflix-like money for it.
Jez , Netflix for €30 , for a yearly sub ?
Where , point me in the direction please !!
sorry but just to correct your post:
- There is no A320 with 300+ seats those got removed on thursday as those were people who cheated the system and all aircraft got removed
- Work orders start perfectly fine i have done loads of jobs never had a job not start so user error
- Filtering of jobs again you can do this if you bothered to look at the settings to filter them
- Check the fuel of an aircraft before you rent it and make sure there is fuel at the airport again user error
See the pattern here,
Pay a 30$ subscription to be labelled a cheater, I wouldn’t touch this with a 10 foot pole.
Erm why are you labelled a cheater lol
Your only cheating if you used one of the cheaters aircraft for example using a modded a320 that can carry 300 passengers for a flight lol. Yeah do that and you are cheating. Thankfully they have removed all modded aircraft
I think OnAir is great. I fly in thunder world. Some small things i don’t like:
- Only American aircraft reg. numbers.
- Reg. numbers don’t appear on the aircraft in the sim like with FSE.
- Need to use take-off flaps for full score (Lot of aircraft don’t need take-off flaps.)
- Too much multi hop jobs, i mostly want to do single flights.
- The need to do mission jobs for XP. Rather choose my own jobs.
- “Small airport” feature. Why not use the sim database of the chosen sim to determine which airpots are usable for the player? A big local GA airport is considered a “small airport” by OnAir. Still no guarantee the airport will be in my sim or not.
- Daytime constraint. I want to fly at night too, and in the morning. And be able to change the time of day in the sim? I mean why not?
- Unlimited FBO’s per airport.
Still like it over FSE, even the subscription model doesn’t bother me. Free is often bad i think, it means you don’t get treated as a customer. That is very much true for FSE, they basically don’t care because they don’t get paid. They still don’t allow new people, a real company would have fixed the problem in a day.
I tried to use it but I prefer big planes. So passing the tests to have the right to pilot tired me. I ended up dropping the software. No time to waste with beginner flights to prove our skills. I have nothing to prove. On the other hand, the price is high … clearly
