Anyone try the B-52 yet

Hi there,

Just saw this. The BUFF did NOT have a flight engineer, just the aircraft commander and the co-pilot. Alert birds were stared within three minutes using a cartridge start on 1 and 8, then air bleed to start the other 6.
Was hard to fly manually, thank God for the auto-pilot.

2000+ as 99BW aircraft commander.

There’s a new B-52H, from GKS, on 2020 Marketplace today.

$39.99. YouTube video lists it for both 2020 and 2024, but it’s not showing the 2024 Marketplace yet.

It certainly looks the part. I don’t know anything about the developer though…

They did the F-111, which is a pretty good plane if you ask me, as well as the two MiGs (21 and 25), both of which are also pretty good. So I’d expect their Buff to be… pretty good.

Developer is Ukrainian. Previously released F111E, MiG21,MiG25.
All very well put together and given their circumstances quite well supported.
Those who have flown the real life F111 have said its pretty darn good.

Nice, glad to hear! Might check this one out when I can spare the coin.

If anyone has this can they confirm if the wheels steer on the ground? From the trailer it looks like they’re not animated and that’s a massive turn off for me especially if it costs $40…

That was probably just a typical replay bug, I saw that too.

I want this aircraft…but 44.90 Euro is as impressive as the aircraft itself…lol …the month ago ..there were literally No releases…and now prior to years end …i guess every thursday will be huge…..

I was tempted, but I picked up the Mig-25 to round out my collection, and it’s awful. I’m a little worried about this developer now. I’ll wait for reviews.

Important notice for AirshowAssistant users - most features of the tool will not work with B-52 (including aerial refuelling) because dev didn’t set unique ATC MODEL and ATC TYPE values (they just copied from default Airbus). I hope that will be fixed in next update.

Hi everyone!

We were a bit confused after reading the comments in this thread until we realized they refer to a different developer and an older model.

To avoid any further confusion, we’ve opened a separate topic dedicated to the newly released GKS B-52H.

GKS B-52H STRATOFORTRESS

We’ll be answering all incoming questions there.

Thank you all for your feedback and support!

Got it. We will definitely fix this issue and see what we can do to improve integration with Airshow Assistant features.

You think the GKS Mig-25 is awful ??

I have this plane in MSFS2020 and I think it’s a very good quality addon. Could you elaborate a bit on the major flaws you have noted during your tests ?

It’s has a nasty roll. Take your eyes off the horizon, and it’s off chasing squirrels. I have the F111 and the Mig21 as well, so I was a bit surprised by that. I haven’t read the manual yet, so am I missing some auto-trim feature?

I think you missed an important point in the flight manual. In the MiG-25, damped controls are used. The autopilot damping should be engaged immediately after takeoff. This activates attitude stabilization, making the flight smooth and comfortable. Hope it would help.

I haven’t noted such an instability issue during my flights, and I haven’t used the autopilot yet, only manual flights.

In any case, I think this wouldn’t be enough to quality the plane as ā€œawfulā€ā€¦

In reality, the Mig25 3D model is superb, the virtual cockpit is excellent (especially in VR), and the plane offers a very nice sense of immersion in flight. It’s probably one of my favorite military jets in the sim. I still prefer the Mig21 though, because it’s more challenging to fly :stuck_out_tongue: (I just wish GKS would fix the small engine (over) power issues introduced with the last update…)

Yes, ā€œawfulā€ was over the top. My apologies. I am reading Section V now on the SAU. I never use autopilots with the exception of auto throttle in my airliners. I only fly in VR, and I thought it was broken somehow. I’ll spend some more time with it.
