Lol screenshot winner is spitfire with visible weapons because marketplace version has visible weapons.
Your point seems very naïve. Asobo are obviously going to highlight products that are making money for the company.
There is also a point that 3rd party mods have a potential security risk, since it is downloaded content from an unknown source. Something Asobo will want to avoid dealing with.
What’s the PMDG 737 update about?
Decent update this week. For my interests, biggest item is the ch47 release. Other than that pretty lackluster in addons. I do wish the backlog had details so you knew what was coming. Other than that, looking forward to the dev chat next week.
In the past MS/Asobo have adhered very closely with the guidelines for their ESRB “E” game rating (everyone) and have not incorporated any weapons in the planes they release. Therefore, it is unusual to see what looks to be guns on the the spitfire (3rd party plane) which has won the screenshot challenge.
They are pitot tubes ![]()
Definitely, it’s not available for Xbox.
It’s likely the 3.0.92 build, which should bring some fixes to text input on the CDU and the tablet on Xbox.. Current PC build is 0.93 so there is likely another update coming around for you, unless this takes you straight to 0.93.
Anything in these updates should be stability and bug fixes for now as PMDG is focusing on their 777-300ER, getting it ready for launch.
Wish we had, together with CYYZ…
I never mentioned any guns. I simply stated it is expected for Asobo to push more publicity into products that make them money.
The E rating is annoying, takes away realism on Xbox. There’s Halo on Xbox which is M, no need to hide weapons on flight sim military games and baby the game down.
Oopsy, this was a mistake on our part. I’ve updated the text on the Dev Update to correctly reflect the scenery being updated on just the PC platform.
Apologies for any confusion caused!

Hi all,
We’ve made a quick edit to this week’s Screenshot Challenge winner. I misinterpreted the weapons on the wings to be pitot tubes, which is a mistake on my behalf!
Thanks for keeping conversations constructive, and for understanding our requirements for screenshot submissions.
It’s always one of the highlights of my working week when I get to pick the winners of the Screenshot Challenges, so I’m looking forward to seeing more amazing entries for upcoming challenges! ![]()
Thanks

Hi there of MSFS,
I think there is a confusion here as April 18, 2024 Development Update shows two versions: one with @JohnStarp as the winner and the other, myself.
@JohnStarp is a wonderful photographer and aviator, so even if this is a mistake, I am willing to happily give up this obvious mistake in his favour as his image is definitely far better than mine.
Thank you.
Hi @ZILLNIAZI17,
Please see my above comment regarding the change in Screenshot winner.
We originally chose the image from JohnStarp as the winner, however I mistook the weapons on each wing as being pitot tubes. We therefore needed to update the Dev Update and forum post with a new winner, which was your screenshot!
I’ve already sent a message to the original user and apologise for any confusion this caused! ![]()
Thanks
Chewwy
Thank you for clearing this up.
And thank you all for picking my image. I am humbled.
Please update this information on X too.
That’s what I thought at first also but they just looked too big (and menacing
). The picture below provides a closer view
I was program manager for over 10 years of an online multiplayer WWII combat game with an E rating…nothing prohibits guns on planes including firing ‘live’ ammo.
