Hello,
my sim still shows 1.31.22.0 as Version Number…did i miss something ?

1.31.22.0 is the current version..

Is this the proper thread to ask if there is a development update available/pending for the terrain popping issue that is being reported and discussed in other threads of this forum?

Aerial ground tiles changing/popping in - Bug Reports & Wishlist / Scenery and Airports - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums

I’m not knocking Xbox in any way, but I use a 55" 4K tv with my 3080TI/11700 PC just great. And if I had purchased a 65" TV, it’d work, too. And I sit it right in front of me on my desk, so cockpits are essentially life size

What sort of update are you looking for? It’s mentioned in the previous Update Blog (obviously no changes since then), #14 on the Lifetime Bug list - Planned. Not much else to say. They know some work they have to do, and it’s in queue for development.

That’s good enough for me. Thank you very much!

That’s absolutely great for you😃

With all due respect, this thread is not about mesh morphing as described in #14 but a whole different issue of popping textures in several regions of the world (most of Europe as to now, and spreading to americas and other continents)
It seems that Bing is updating imagery data and this new data is getting gradually injected in the sim but only at LOD0 (the highest detailed textures), which causes these mismatched texture to suddenly pop in when approaching terrain, and then to pop-out.
Those texture are sometimes taken at different time of day or seasons than the original ones and they ruin low-VFR flying or approaches for a substantial (and growing) amount of flyers.
Please, have a look at the thread for more details

What is obvious and observable is that people used to vote or propose with enthusiasm. The list of bugs and wishes is frozen because of war tired, people have understood that it is useless. It is clear that development updates are now taken lightly and without interest, like q and a, during which the expected questions are not asked.

Anyone experiencing sim freezes after new update and with NVIDIA latest 531.41 driver? This especially occurred on flight startup and when FSLTL was spawning in the traffic… it didn’t crash but freeze the sim so that I could only leave with the task manager

Mine didn’t actually freeze, but I might have missed it. After I updated to 531.41, I got an overheat dialogue box during a flight in some simple GA bird and then the sim crashed (CTD).

I didn’t stick around to find out more. Just went to the nVidia site and re-installed my previous known good driver version 531.18. This was last week. No recurring problems since.

Others have reported similar problems in this forum with 531.41. nVidia issued a hot patch apparently, but until they get the update stabilized I am sticking with 531.18.

Stay away from .41. Installed it last week and my monitor started glitching and than went out . I couldn’t see the desktop screen . Was able to finally get into safe mode , DDU uninstalled it than went to 528.49 and bam my monitor works again and msfs is back to normal running great. Very bad driver .41

Thanks for your responses.
Good to know that its driver related.

I just did a new system setup and did a clean install before and thought I had messed things up with it but its the graphics driver.

I even got blue screens because of this driver which I
Hadn’t had ever before. Will try the hotfix later but until I stay with the previous version

Let’s be clear on this it was never a heat issue but is a sync issue manifested by glitches in memory / memory overruns. Vram overclocks are the most likely suspect but it would seem they are only part of the equation.

Thank you for that.

I am not really very knowledgeable - that is clear. I have always been aware, though, that heat is not my PC’s friend.

Until MSFS I never touched a PC “game”, not even Solitaire and really didn’t even know how to overclock anything if I wanted to. However, I do know that nothing on my PC is overclocked today at least not intentionally.

Are you hinting that possibly the 531.41 video adapter driver has the ability to do this behind my back, so to speak? Or am I really, really unclear?

I wish I had taken a screen capture of the dialogue box, because I am very fuzzy now about what it said exactly. I do recall the word “overheated”, though.

Is this what you saw?:

No the driver can’t overclock your gpu however it has shown to be inherently unstable for some users so I suggest rolling back to 531.29 - Some graphics card manufacturers do overclock their gpus as a selling point however I guess they don’t test with MSFS or they probably would have to undo them.

Yes, thank you. That all does seem very familiar. As you can tell, I actually didn’t read it all that carefully. But I saw that “overheated” part and immediately decided it had to be the new nVidia driver because normally my PC runs very cool and very silently (no sound from the fans).

I hope is doesn’t join the stuff that is long term non-actioned bugs like the floating runway lights and blanks screens.
