I am not new to sims, I have been running X-plane for years. (Not new to PCs, also a Private Pilot) I also flew earlier versions of MSFS 202x, however I installed the latest 2024 MSFS and after considerable time I say I give up. I cannot even manage to get a C172 configured into a useable state with my Honeycomb controllers (Yoke, rudder and throttle quadrant.) I give up. Going back to X-Plane. Let me know if you significantly update your controls configurations methods. I don’t have the brain for what you have. Bye,

You should try to get past the control setup. It is not intuitive at first, but there are a lot of tutorials out there. I went through this myself, and once you get past it, it’s worth it.

Just got myself a legion pro 7, which came along with a 3 month pc pass , so a great time to try before I buy. So fingers crossed from here on in, the game looks so beautiful and I’m sure those views will help me in liking the game .

I was new in 1981. But 2024 SU3 is so full of problems, it feels new. (I uninstalled 2020 and 2024 - too many issues not worth the time.)
i cant make a new post, so please help me:
Title: Career Mode Loads Previous Flight (Aircraft, Location, and Mode)
Platform: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (Xbox Game Pass for PC)
Version: Latest (as of August 2025)
Mods: None – fully vanilla installation
Reproducibility: Always
Description:
Every time I complete any free flight or mission in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, the next time I launch a career mode mission, the simulator incorrectly loads the previous flight instead of the selected mission.
Specifically:
- It loads the aircraft used in the last flight (e.g. a helicopter instead of the Cessna 172 intended for the mission).
- It also loads the previous flight location, weather, and fuel settings.
- The mission UI and briefing are correct, but after clicking “Fly,” the sim launches into the previous free flight or mission scenario instead.
- This does not happen when launching training missions or landing challenges — those load correctly.
This issue persists even after:
- Deleting and restarting the career mode profile
- Changing username (to avoid special characters)
- Ensuring no content mods are installed
- Reinstalling the simulator
Temporary workaround:
The only way to make career missions load correctly is to fully reinstall the simulator before each flight, which is obviously impractical.
Request:
Please advise if there is a configuration or cache file I can delete to prevent this from happening, or if this bug is acknowledged and scheduled to be fixed.

Been flight simming since Flight Simulator on the Apple IIe. Hiatus when MS dropped support for Apple in early 90s. 99% fly GA outside the cities, nothing too sophisticated. Use a lot of PLN files and its a lot of fun. I have an HP Omen 45L. Hotas One, 43” TV hooked up. I do have FS 2020 and 2024.
