Some of us are still experiencing bad texture loading regardless of connection speed and hardware. Recent update has made it worse with distant textures not loading at all. Three weeks after release, I do wonder if the pattern isn’t set for the future?
I hope not but as FS2024 becomes more popular, I doubt the the current server capacity will cope. I think that FS2020 users will be the first to suffer.
What is the content of your C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file? Did you ever use the Google Maps mod?
At the moment FS2024 is becoming less popular day by day.
I disagree, there is more than enough server capacity available, its around fine tuning it.
This is still really new and not been done before so will take some time to get it right. It’s not perfect but I think they will get it resolved.
Got the numbers for Xbox and MS store?
I really don’t understand the fascination by presenting a number from Steam when we’ve no idea of the actual use of the simulator. If your trying to show something then you need all the data as it means nothing at all.
Because it’s the only data we have access to. You don’t need to understand this, others do. It’s good enough to show the current trend. If you have a better data, please share with us.
I hope you are correct but an awful lot of people are having issues with both FS versions due to server capacity. Everywhere I fly I see pop up scenery, even flying a 172. I have 130GB allocated to cache, I have a very fast / high spec laptop with a good broadband speed.
The 3rd Party is your Internet Provider, who neither 1st or 2nd has any control over.
A miscalculated move to put trust in a service beyond Microsoft’s control.
Very true.
Correct.
This was always a concern, but even with internet downloading at full bandwidth the texture/file loading just doesn’t happen.
It isn’t just textures, control assignments, models, settings, none of them stick. They all seems to be coming from the cloud in an adhoc basis. The problems are so numerous and random.
