The file structure is extremely convoluted and we have to put every mod into the community folder. After one year or more there must be thousands of files, now find the one you want to delete, there are no subfolders for sceneries, planes, landscapes and so on..tragic. I wonder what Microsoft is willing to fix (airliners). There is already a community mod for the A320 that enables a lot more functionality but i dare not using it because it could interfere with a patch from Microsoft. Same thing with terrain fixes, we can either download a mod or wait for a Bing fix. I think i wait a while before modding my sim.
I think you can create directories…

Directories, and you can move them in and out until there is a better way… so far it has been fairly easy to remove for big MSFS updates.
The “better way” is MSFS Add-on Linker It allows easy management of add-ons, allows user created directories, and allows you to turn add-ons on or off selectively depending on what aircraft your flying.
Also, nothing has to go in your actual Community folder – the app creates symlinks directing MSFS where to look to find the add-ons. When updating the sim, just turn off the add-ons in in the Linker app, then re-activate after the MSFS update. No moving/replacing in the Community folder. Works great!
