Are we still getting the new flight planner and charts?

Yep sorry confused comments

I’ve flown that approach before IRL. I go toodling into Signature in my big, bad Cessna 172RG, and they treated me like it was a Citation X.

When 2020 was released, the procedures were created from NavBlue data. MANY extremely busy airports in the U.S. didn’t have approaches, e.g. KASH to name one. With the choice of LOKI, err, LOFI, err, LIDO charts, it seems like Microsoft has again chosen to shaft GA flyers their ability to have charts and or procedures for IFR flying.

When I redid KASH at the very start, I had to export the approach data from FSX then rewrite it to update them to the current procedures. They were eventually added to the base navdata, but it took about a year I think.

If it’s truly the case that they’re using LIDO, I agree, for the same reasons.

Totally agree. Love using either and the NOS charts are “free.” I wonder if there’s an exclusivity agreement with Jepp? Maybe on the terps only?

Then I guess it is a valid concern that we should bring to their attention …

  • Let’s create a wishlist item here on the forums outlining the problem and the concerns
  • Let’s put it in as a question for/during the next streams, we can link to the above created wishlist item
  • Let’s post the link to the above created wishlist item on the Working Title Discord. I’m pretty sure they won’t be able to publicly discuss it with us. But we can at least try to get their attention.

Not sure I enough about the situation to correctly describe it in a wishlist item but I’d love to help if possible.

It would be great if you could login with Navigraph as an option in the planning tool. I imagine that this tool will become useless should you use Navigraph once they have made their system work with 2024.

I do fear MSFS planning tool wouldn’t be terribly useful in the first place. Navigraph is just about as good as it gets for planning a sim flight and those that use it now would likely not switch away from it, given it’s features that would be tough to implement inherently in the sim. Just my opinion.

If there’s Navigraph integration, then yes, I think you’re right. But I highly doubt that will happen. Along similar lines, it would be cool to see SimBrief get integrated so FPL’s could be imported directly to the sim.

I really like Navigraph and SimBrief but would rather have it all in the sim. I made a deal with myself when 2020 came out not to have a lot of addons - I violated it big time. But I’m hoping for things like weather, seasons, planning, traffic, ATC (don’t think so), and charts will be OK without add-ons. That’s probably not very realistic, though.
