Brief description of the issue:

Downloaded an update this afternoon (600+ mb). I then flew over Edinburgh and discovered that Arthur’s Seat, a mainly bare hill in the city centre was now covered in a thick forest. Previously the hill was accurately represented in the photogrammetry scenery.

Does anyone have a screenshot of this hill pre-world update XVII (United Kingdom & Ireland) that could be used as a comparison? If so, please post!

Here’s a capture on Series X as it looked from launch until World Update 17:

As of WU17 the tree coverage was vastly reduced (as it should be irl). These shots are from a different angle and not the greatest, but show how it was up until Tuesday:

Since World Update 18, the new photogrammetry is showing on the hill itself, but trees are back over the top of it.

It wasn’t World Update XVII which caused it. That update actually removed the trees as per the real world. It was a small update which I downloaded yesterday of around 600mb that seems to have caused the problem.

It does certainly look to be the same issue.
Both of these places received photogrammetry updates in WU17, so maybe WU18 has inadvertently messed up the exclusion area for autogen trees.

Hopefully something Asobo can fix without too much trouble.

World Update XVIII didn’t cause this problem, I hadn’t downloaded it when the issue appeared. It was caused by the small update I mentioned earlier.

There are tons of autogen trees around Benbecula (Scotland) as well now. Definitely something messed things up lately.
