Asking ChatGPT Some MSFS Settings Questions. Screenshots included. Feel free to add yours!

talk to a bot like to a human.. the ultimate proof of being bored.

You’re supposed to. it memorizes topics and conversations and can link previously discussed subjects in a conversation to stay relevant and non-repetitive when carrying on, as long as you keep the window tab open and don’t close it.

It has its limits for an AI obviously and it will tell you so at some point if you go too personal with the questions (as seen in later screenshots i posted).

Yes i was bored and i was on my way to sleep. I was on the laptop.

It’s all good and fun. Don’t take things too seriously.

And that’s exactly what MSFS should be – Good Fun & Entertainment …

Fly, fly, fly your plane
Gently down the (Twitch) stream
Merrily merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dream

Now only if we can ask ChatGPT to teach @JayDee6281 how to make his “GTN on other mods” work on the WBsim C172 LOL.

Off topic and i’m only kidding

or, might be easier, to get Asobo to just stop encrypting the Model files for the C172 Classic, or at least re-export the model, with the Unique Identity Bit set, so that 3PDs can Mod the models, (even if they remain encrypted).

Try Asking ChatGPT “Who is jayDee6281” ?
I suspect it knows !!! (it know a lot about many Twitch Streamers !! )

It’s a pain i know :frowning:

Hehe i will ask it.

I wasn’t attacking you, I just find this inherently funny  The ultimate proof of being bored ^^ Years ago I used to talk to Siri when it wasn’t that uptight and politically correct

All good brother!

It starts with an innocent “ClippyGPT, please make me am interesting flight plan” and ends with

Siri is so old school lol. I only talk to it when i lose my phone inside the house.

“Siri, play some loud music!”

LOL

Good read on why you shouldn’t trust anything ClippyGPT says: Just Calm Down About GPT-4 Already - IEEE Spectrum

Yeah of course, it’s far from perfect or/and 100% accurate. But i’m going to just say that we’re witnessing the beginning of the future here (and not a very far one). Just glad to be living in those times.

We’re not. Really, we’re not. We’re always been living in the future, this is just another line of tools.

Time will tell. There’s always “resistance” to new stuff (microwave back in the day etc).

That AI code is already starting to be implemented in music production tools for example, where a plugin can basically mix a track for you after Ai analyzing it (if you’re not in the field, i won’t bother digging deep to explain).

Again, time will tell. But now those movies about robots taking over humans are starting to look not far from fictional, in my opinion of course.

Edit: Wait, you ARE in the music field lol.

It’s not “resistance”. I’m talking about the underlying tech to LLM’s specifically.

Rodney Brooks mentions it, as do others, and if you understand that particular tech (it’s basically a Markov Model on steroids) you’ll know how hard it’s going to be to put a “trust box” around this particular tech. Great for creative uses, not great for trust and accuracy.

AI as a field has been useful for decades. Fuzzy logic controllers in washing machines being a great example. The LLM hype will die down (soon, I hope), and LLM’s like ChatGPT will find their niche.

That AI code is already starting to be implemented in music production tools for example, where a plugin can basically mix a track for you after Ai analyzing it (if you’re not in the field, i won’t bother digging deep to explain).

Not starting to, they’ve been implemented for a number of years in plugins from companies like Izotope.
I’m a musician too, and have been doing AI music for literally decades myself - markov machines being one I know quite well as it happens. Some of the open source ML amp models are interesting, but they’ve also been in commercial amps like Guitar Rig for a while too now.

Edit: Wait, you ARE in the music field lol.

Well, I can make strange noises and sometimes it’s musical!

Sadly i’m not familiar with this no. So no point to argue about it with you i think. You obviously know more stuff than i do.

I just think, in my opinion, that this thing is far from dying and i think it will evolve much more.

Regarding the plugins, yes Izotope has been doing it for years, but i think more and more devs are taking further advantage of what’s offered now, aka Sonible.

I’ll check your music for sure!

Always happy to support a fellow noise maker!

Oh, I wasn’t implying anything is dying, far from it.
Puncturing the hype balloon doesn’t mean that, but as an engineer you need to be accurate about the tech. The linked article above is a good take on the overhype, by someone who does practical AI. He’s not saying it’s dying either, he’s just puncturing the hype balloon over the LLM new shinee craziness.

Sonible.

They look great, but I just cured my MSFS content aquisition syndrome so not about to start that again on music plugins! lol. Though that EQ does look interest…nooooooooooooooooooooooo

Hehe, nothing you can’t do yourself, but they do sound VERY good. They won many awards for this bundle.

I use Neutron, but I’ll check out the video:

What DAW do you use? I was just thinking: If anyone would probably take that AI technology and run with it, it’s the Reaper dev LOL.

But he needs to work on that horrible UI first
