MS made a statement on this in one of the developer Q&As that essentially they had issues with the license from the manufacturer who initially wanted them to make an entirely new aircraft for 2024 instead of porting the Husky. Last I heard they had worked out a deal for porting the existing Husky into 2024, but it will take time. No timeline has been made available, but I would expect sometime next year.
Any chance you can recall which Q&A it was discussed in? I believe you I just want to see it for myself.
I have been away from flying for awhile, and I figured before I dove into MSFS 2024 I would wait until the creators fixed it. I’m getting ready to jump into 2024, and I was wondering about this AC.
I purchased the Aviat Aircraft Husky A-1C (Asobo) for 2020, I was just wondering if Asobo’s own 2020 aircraft was “fully” compatible with 2024?
Unfortunately, it’s not even available for FS24. I believe there’s a licensing issue at work, which is very disappointing.
Since for most of us, this was a case where we paid for something, used it, liked it, and expected it to appear in MSFS 2024 - you would hope that MS/Asobo would issue a public comment as to if and when this would be available to us in MSFS 2024.
I don’t recall any such promise - phrases like “most” or “virtually all” were most certainly used. No lies as far as I can tell, just circumstances beyond their control - which are in the process of being resolved for the community.
This is just one of the official statements made by Ms…
“With very few exceptions, virtually all add-ons that work in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) today will function in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Add-ons that were purchased from the in-simulator Marketplace will not need to be re-purchased in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024”.
I also heard them say durn a dev update talk flat out say that all 2020 AC would be compatible and brought forward. Ms made several statements like this, several times.
And it seems like you’ve found one of those few exceptions - pretty straightforward.
