The switches you have circled have one on the left to toggle between FD tied to Autopilot (full up), just FD (middle position), and OFF (FD off). Since the AP uses the FD in that configuration, it needs the FD to also be on if you want the autopilot to work.
Am I missing what you’re checking on? Are you saying you should be able to have the AP on without the FD also being on?

Can confirm. Generated a low IFR flight plan to ensure that wasn’t the issue here. Regardless of FD or AP/FD switch setting there is no FD.

Perhaps the problem is related to the G1000 from WT. But I did not delete the content purchased from MSFSStore and did not check it.

I do not have the WT G1000 Marketplace add-on installed, so it isn’t related to that.

The Pilatus is equipped with the G950, not G1000.

Right, but it’s my understanding that the WT G1000 improvements were included here with the G950. I know this, because I remember the earlier G950 being the Asobo less-featured version. It appears that WT’s improvements have been natively installed here, thus there being no need for the Marketplace add-on to improve fidelity with this specific aircraft.

My post’s purpose was simply to indicate that without the add-on installed I see the same issue to allay any concern that the OP had that the add-on could be a cause of the issue.
