Just wanted to chime in before the complainers ruin it for us again. First off after SU7 Asobo implemented a fog and a color aspect to the sky that was superior to what we’ve seen before. No longer do contrails disappear high up when surrounded by clouds. All this was rendered mute because the implementation was broken. In the beta it’s fixed for the most part. I was flying out of KANE on a cold subzero day to find a mist hanging just above the ground as I climbed out on a clear day. It was exactly how it looks in the real world. San Diego had a mist in the low-lying clouds. This stuff looks amazing. Asobo please stay on this path. Yes, maybe some metar info needs to be adjusted here and there but what you’re doing with the look of the sky is amazing so far.

Here and there…it looks bad everywhere most of the time
I’m sorry that shot doesn’t look bad… All those options you have turned on does.
I am sorry but you are in a minority in thinking it looks good, in fact there is even a beta out to solve this problem, so…sorry
that’s what AssuringZoo793 said. The beta solves the problem for the most part …
I agree that Asobo is on the right track with the beta. So until some people chime in on your behalf, you’re in the minority again
And you can look around the forum to see you are wrong. Keep pretending it’s all great
is this a photo from a mobile? looks weird.
If you look around basically ANY forum you will ALWAYS have a negative majority. That’s because people who are happy are less vocal and often don’t even go to a forum regularly.
And if MSFS has proved anything, then that whining, entitlement, unrealistic expectations followed by complaining and generally being miserable seem to be hobbies of a great many people.
And before you misinterpret me any further: no I don’t think that everything is great. Far from it. But most is working fine, and most of the rest has been improving. Still there’s a lot of room for improvement in many respects. And that won’t change. And that’s exactly what I expect from a 10-year-project. And speaking from experience in long-time projects I can guarantee you it’s always a little up and down. The most important part is that the general direction is up. And that’s definitely been the case here so far.
I’ve no cloud and no snow on the Great north so you’re lucky trust me…
It’s perspective. He might enjoy it. It’s not all bad.
I also feel they are on the right track, it is a work in progress and I do see progress. Some days where I fly are absolutely breathtaking and those moments are a blast, I have no doubt they will keep working to get it right.
I know it’s a ten years project but does that justify that at every (non optional) update we break the main features in the game? Then what? After ten years and money spent on the game they come out with MFS2030 and it all starts all over again…when do you actually enjoy the game properly?
It looks 10,000x better than X-plane or P3D so I really don’t understand what the issue is.
I just don’t understand what some folks really want out of the clouds. I mean, do you really want it to look exactly how it looks outside your home window???
Not at all if you read other post you would know that we are not asking for that, just to be believable as it was before this update.
personally i enjoy every second of this Flight Sim masterpiece. And yes there are issues, and they will fix them .
That’s what I was trying to say:
you have to want to enjoy it. It’s natural to be angry when something breaks and doesn’t work anymore. But only focussing on the stuff that went wrong instead of the stuff that has improved will never let anyone enjoy it. And if more stuff improves than breaks, the overall direction is improvement. Also everything that had been broken in the past has been fixed eventually.
And still additionally they have managed to introduce new features (VR, racing, XBox, etc etc) and have managed to improve graphics issues (draw distance, performance, spikes etc. etc.) and of course have added a ton of conent worth several hundred Euros if it had been payware.
So as has been said before it’s all a matter of perspective. I’ve been active daily in this forum for about 15 months now, and to be honest this forum at times has been more of a stress factor than anything that has gone wrong with MSFS.
So I cut down on reading complaint threads and also DECIDE to enjoy myself rather than keep myself angry. Better for my heart and also MSFS is much more fun that way.
It’s a choice.
That’s what we all want I think…I do enjoy the game a lot when it works, or I wouldn’t be here pushing for it to shine again, or testing every day
the main issue of Los Asobos is that they are trying to over-satisfy their customers by developing further top wishes and requests. Find me a sim with a communication profile and status like MSFS. Of course there will be issues, bugs and conflicts, its not easy …Flight simulator is a complex code engine.
Yes you are right in this, I know some people wanted METAR introduced, and this might be conflicting at the moment with the weather…but I never asked for it, I just wanted to enjoy what I saw when I bought the game up until su 7…I never ever asked anything more.
from my point of view is an investment. Complex system which is updating almost monthly to become better. i dont think Car example fits with a development project.
