ASUS 5080 Unrecognized- Please help Any Other 5080 Users of Kind Souls

My new ASUS 5080 goes unrecognized. It is an unrecognized device in Windows Device Manager. NVIDIA CP says no NVIDIA cards present.

The Motherboard is a TUF Gaming 670 E-Plus WiFi (BIOS and chipset updated).

Powersupply is 850 W.

Previous board was a 3070ti and ran fine.

ASUS is at a loss.

I guess I could try to reseat it but it is solid as a rock.

You probably already thought of this and have done so, but have you updated to a current/recent NVIDIA driver for the 50xx series? Just a thought, all the best.

Thanks. ASUS has the 572.83 driver and I know my drivers are much more current to run the 3070. I cannot get to the NVIDIA CP because it says no cards are installed. I think I am at 576.02. I tried to install 572.83 and the installer says no NVIDIA cards installed.

I cracked the case and the board seems solid… to reseat it I have to unscrew everything and that is a task for after dinner.

I checked that their power cords did not have any kinks and the board is lit up. They do not look that great but they are supposed to work. Anyway at worst this is supposed to draw 350W and I have 850W on tap.

Rats. I checked with ASUS and they said this card would run on this board which has PCIe 5.0… I see that the slots step down… so you think if is was recognized it would run at least at a lower speed.

Thanks for the response… helps to talk this through… I suspect others may have this board … it is popular.

Carefully reseated Board and now recognized…
