`Since last update the FPS drop down to 2-6 FPS when I come close to arrival airport. Sometime it recover tback, but very often I have to close my flight without approch my destination. Any Idea?
Specs and game settings?
I took the Citation out for a spin yesterday. From Dallas to Memphis. The smoothest flight ever, 65 FPS at altitude, 35-43 at 3500’, but then it was time to land and kaboom, 12-18 FPS at times. a slide show, I almost crashed because of my input lag. This is the kind of stuff that happens regularly to many here and it truly takes the fun out of it. It seems like the best thing to do for now is to stay away from major airports. I may even give bush flying a try. By the way, for me it’s been that way for many updates…
3440x1440, i9-9900k all 5ghz, 64 gig RAM, all NVME drives, Strix 3090 factory OC.
I took out the FBW yesterday into KATL. First flight in about 6 weeks. Passed the airport on downwind and the sim turned into a slideshow that couldn’t recover. Since the frames dropped, the AP went bonkers, so the jet was unflyable. 5fps folks. 5. Nothing has changed for me since the bugs that were introduced during the UK update.
Sometimes I don’t know why I even bother anymore.
I have to say that the SIM got a whole lot better for me, but there is something about airports that bring the main thread down a lot. I am sure there will be responses about the FPS issue, that 25 is enough and blah blah, those are folks that are trying to convince themselves that their systems are good enough. They have no clues about the relation between FPS and high velocity moving objects. (taking a videography class will help them understand this.) Fly the H135 freeware helicopter and move around the airports at 20-30 knots…super smooth no matter how ultra settings you have, even at 25 FPS. Now try the same at 90-130 knots .
From ADOBE’s site:: 60fps: As 4K video resolution becomes more prevalent, a broader audience has been introduced to this FPS. 4K resolution lets a higher frame rate be displayed and gives the footage an amazingly detailed and lifelike view. Perfect if you want to record a video game, this frame rate also increases the smoothness of action."
“Smoothness of the action”, that’s the key. If you like watching Casalanca on your TV then 25 FPS is good enough.
Spend some time flying GA.I have eased off a bit flying the CRJ and FBW and have been enjoying the sim a lot more. Have the Arrow and its a blast. Even the default 172 Classic version is decent.
I love the airliners but I find it can be frustrating when I am trying to land after a long flight only to end up with stuttering and low fps.
my system
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8 Core 3.60 GHz
RAM 24 GB
Win 10 64 Bit
GEForce RTX2070 Super
Nvidia 466.63 and back to 457.30
And what resolution are you running at?
Hi
2540 x 1440
the “funny” is that when I use FPS counter from developers it show 24 - 28 FPS but the sim stuck at 2 - 6 FPS what also is shown when I use afterburner to show FPS
Um. I completely agree with your argument but “4K resolution lets a higher frame rate be displayed” is absolute nonsense. Not sure why Adobe would even say that.
