I’m getting full ATC eg tower, ground approach clearance delivery at all airports minor as well as large which l expect, but not at the small airports, this has only happened since the last update.

Do you mean that in small airports (those without a control tower, so to speak) you can no longer contact the ATC for IFR authorization? (you can only do this after take off)

Yes small airports in reporting only no ATC that’s the way it is in real life Multicom frequency CTAF
Have you installed Navigraph-Data for MSFS? If yes, thats the reason…
Interesting, I thought that, knowing the frequencies, an IFR authorization had to be given before take off, even on CTAF airport
so in the old FSX the procedure was wrong (I remember things like: “your clearence is void in 30 min”, etc)

Can be given on the ground or on departure, comms are not always the best on the ground.

Is that the subscription service Navigraph? Subscribing and installing provides ATC even at remote rural airfields?
Yeah, but this shouldnt be the case. And im not sure if its true for every airport but i experienced it at 2 uncontrolled airports that suddenly got full ATC services.
It isstill in Beta so itmightget fixed soon.

For me it is, yes. If you fly IFR, especislly online on VATSIM, it is a must have.
I haven’t got as far as VatSim yet but I do like to fly IFR and I’m trying to slowly increase my realism and adding useful utilities etc along the way. Might give it a try. Thanks for the info.
Its very useful to have the realworld charts and the App is awesome. You can visualize the Departure, approaches and enroute charts and track your flight on the PC or iPad. It will help you to understand all that about SID/STARs, minimums, etc.
You dont really need current navdata if you just want to fly offline, but it will increase realism.
